Ngetta Tropical Holdings (NTH) incorporated in 2015 located in Lira, is a company engaged in vegetable oil milling, has imported and installed a modern new oil mill plant (daily capacity of 25 Mt).
NTH plans to build a dedicated youth centered supply chain for sunflower crushing material as a strategy to sustainably secure a steady and smooth supply. In 2016, NTH was able to supply 12.7 Mt of good quality seed to their out growers, supported the development of 13 cooperatives and was able to purchase 170 Mt of crushing materials from the out growers.
To strengthen the supply chain NTH is embarking on improving linkages with cooperatives through providing extension services, sourcing for and importing Hybrid Seeds, crop finance and buying produce directly from cooperatives ultimately leading to more supply to the company and higher incomes for the producers.
In 2016 the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries contracted NTH for supply and delivery of 12,658 Kgs of Hybrid AGSUN 8251 Sunflower seeds to 7 districts of Pader, Lira, Oyam, Otuke, Kole, Dokolo and Amolatar. NTH duly supplied and delivered as per the contract terms more so delivering this allocation of seeds directly to the farmers who are organized in Cooperatives and groups.
