The Chief Executive Officer of Ngetta Tropical Holdings Paul Omara has said the company’s core agenda of developing the rural people has been achieved in an accelerated manner despite the establishment being in operations just for three years.
Speaking Monday evening on Voice of Lango FM, a local radio station in Lira, Paul Omara noted that walking the talk especially on paying farmers premium and commiserate prices for the sunflower grains produced have made the success possible.
He noted that if NTH’s interest was money, the company would have jumped the bandwagon and dropped sunflower grains just like the way her competitors did.
‘In the last farming calendar Ngetta Tropical Holdings bought grains from her farmers worth 3.8 Billion at a premium price of 1100 shillings from the cooperatives in Northern Uganda we are working with Omara said.
Omara also urged other firms who are engaged in agro processing to emulate NTH and pay farmers commiserate prices adding that giving farmers a raw deal of low prices must end in 2018.
As a strategy for rapid growth, the two decade banker asked the farmers to work hard, get united in farmer cooperatives to give them high bargaining power and produce marketable crops.
Ngetta Tropical Holdings is currently working with forty five farmer cooperatives with a network of forty five farmers thousand (45000) farmers
